Material Categories

Materials We Source

Materials are sourced to the grade, standard and tolerances named in your specification, not to a generic equivalent.

01

Steel Sections, Plates & Pipes

Hot-rolled sections, including IPE, HEA and HEB, UB and UC, wide-flange, channels and angles, in grades such as S275JR, S355J2, ASTM A36, A572 Gr 50 and A992. Structural, high-strength and chequered plate, with cut-to-size supply where it simplifies fabrication. Square, rectangular and circular hollow sections, hot-finished or cold-formed. Seamless and welded pipes by size, schedule and grade.

  • EN 10025 · ASTM A6
  • EN 10210 / 10219 · A500
  • ASTM A53 / A106

02

Steel Coils

Hot-rolled, cold-rolled, hot-dip galvanised and pre-painted coil for cold-forming, cladding and fabrication. Each coil is specified by grade, thickness, width, coil weight, zinc coating mass and paint system, with slitting or cut-to-length supply where required.

  • HR / CR
  • Galvanised · PPGI
  • EN 10346 · ASTM A653

03

Steel Grating

Standard welded and press-locked bar grating panels and stair treads in common bearing bar sizes and spacings, plain or serrated, typically hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461 and supplied with fixing clips. Grating cut, banded and fabricated to project layout drawings is coordinated under Fabrication.

  • Welded · press-locked
  • Stair treads
  • ISO 1461

04

Cladding Sheets & Sandwich Panels

Profiled roof and wall sheets in galvanised, aluminium-zinc or pre-painted steel, and insulated sandwich panels with PIR, PUR or mineral wool cores, supplied in the manufacturer’s standard profiles, thicknesses, coatings and colours with its technical data. Complete roofing and cladding systems with project cutting lists, flashings and trims are coordinated under Fabrication.

  • Profiled sheet
  • Sandwich panels
  • EN 14509

Specification Compliance

Your Specification Is the Reference

Material requirements are reviewed against the client’s specifications and BOM during enquiry and procurement. Technical compliance, certification requirements, and inspection arrangements are coordinated with the responsible parties as required.

Supplier Evaluation & Qualification

Supplier Evaluation Based on Project Requirements

SteelBrio identifies and evaluates suitable mills, stockists, and manufacturers based on product availability, production or stock capabilities, relevant experience, documentation, and delivery requirements. Specialist technical or QA/QC assessments are coordinated when required.

Qualification Criteria

  • Production or stock capability for the grades and sizes required
  • Quality management system and relevant certifications
  • Accuracy and completeness of material documentation
  • Experience with similar project specifications
  • Capacity and lead time against the project schedule
  • Packing, marking and loading practices

Ongoing Evaluation

  • Supplier suitability confirmed for each order.
  • Documents checked on every delivery
  • Delivery performance tracked against confirmed dates
  • Non-conformities recorded and followed up
  • Performance reviewed after each order
  • Re-evaluation when performance falls short

Documentation & Traceability

Documents That Follow the Material

Documentation requirements are agreed at order stage, so that every delivery can be traced back to its certificates.

Material Documentation

  • Mill test certificates to EN 10204 type 3.1, or 3.2 where specified
  • Galvanising and coating certificates
  • Packing lists and bundle lists
  • Delivery notes and shipping documents
  • Certificates of origin where required
  • Third-party inspection reports where specified

Traceability

  • Heat numbers recorded against each delivery
  • Marking kept legible through handling and transport
  • Certificates cross-referenced to packing lists
  • A document register maintained for each order
  • Discrepancies raised before dispatch
  • Required document set collected and handed over at close-out.

Delivery Coordination

From Material List to Delivered Steel

Deliveries are planned around the date and sequence in which the material is needed at the workshop or site.

01

Requirement Review

The BOM is checked against the specification for grades, standards, tolerances, testing and coating requirements.

02

RFQ & Comparison

Qualified suppliers are invited to quote, and offers are compared technically and commercially.

03

Order & Documents

Procurement arrangements, material specifications, documentation, marking, and packing requirements are coordinated in accordance with the agreed project requirements.

04

Pre-Dispatch Checks

Certificates are reviewed against the order, loading is planned, and inspection is arranged where specified.

05

Delivery & Close-Out

Deliveries are tracked to the workshop or site in the required sequence, and the full document set is handed over.
